Eye Doctor Caroline Cho Caroline Cho, O.D.

Caroline Cho, O.D. received her Bachelor of Science in microbiology from The Ohio State University and graduated with a Bachelor in Visual Science and a Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry.

Dr. Cho is an active member of the Illinois and American Optometric Association as well as the Academy of Myopic Control and Orthokeratology (Ortho-K). She has experience in the diagnosis and treatment of eye related diseases such as bacterial infections, corneal ulcers, and co-management of glaucoma and dry-eye patients.

Cataract surgery is the most common surgical procedure in the United States and there is not just one type of lens implant to fit all possible patients. Dr. Cho also is experienced in educating and assisting in choosing the latest implant technology for her patients needing cataract surgery with are affiliated surgeons. The latest lens implants can provide clear vision for driving, computer and reading, giving her patients the potential to be free from wearing glasses post-operatively. There are also lens implants that can correct astigmatism.

Dr. Cho is trained in fitting corneal reshaping lens (Ortho-K) that you sleep in and remove in the morning, which enables the patient to be free of glasses or contact lenses during the day. Ortho-K was approved in 2002 by the FDA for overnight wear for visual improvement and Dr. Cho has found it to be the best way to treat myopic progression by slowing myopia creep by as much as 90%.

Dr. Cho recommends that everyone have an annual eye exam every year. "The Eyes are the Window to Your Health" and many systemic health conditions such as Diabetes, Hypertension and many genetic disorders can be detected during your eye examination.
